As the current Catch design doesn’t support a section for asides, I’ve combined the following thoughts (which I didn’t have the time to fill out into full posts), into a series of thoughtbites.
Last week it was revealed that the government dropped plans for a full smoking ban in public places despite their own research revealing that 90% of the population was in favour of a ban. Having been to New Zealand where such a ban already exists, I know how nice it is to come back from a day/evening/night out and not smell of other peoples smoke, so can we please sort it out, this would be a good thing.
Sophos is reporting that 1 in 14 1 in 13 (edited 29/11) emails worldwide is a result of the Sober-Z email worm. That’s probably more than all the legitimate email being sent. I wish people would stop opening random email attachments and be just a little more careful.
Having seen Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on Sunday, I was disappointed by how much of the plot had to be cut. Can we have an extended edition DVD please? where some of the finer plot lines are explained for those in the audience who haven’t read the book.
Finally, for some reason we can’t stop winning money in the Sunday pub quiz. After last week’s music round victory, we came third this week meaning that the prize kitty (currently being used to fund our entry) now stands at over £40. I’m not really sure how we do it, as I’m sure
we don’t answer enough questions right!
In August I named Leaves - The Angela Test as my official album of the autumn. Right now, I’m not sure whether there will be an official album for this winter, not if the current crop of offerings are anything to go by. The run up to Christmas seems to send most artists/bands into hibernation. Those which can’t stand to spend a few months at home, or working on the next album, go on winter tours or put on special Christmas shows.

It seems that Winter has well and trully started, which isn’t bad because I’m a
fan of cold, frosty mornings (but not a fan of having the scrape the ice of the car). The

as the frost was lifting on Monday morning. Other photos (taken at the same
time) can be found in the photos section.
It’s so nice to hear people being honest. This quote
is from last Monday’s BBC Radio 2 album chart show where Anastacia was talking about her
new album, “Pieces Of A Dream”:
“I was approched to do a greatest hits
by the record label, and I’m like ‘wow, is it the end? What’s gone on here, I’ve only
just begun.’ and as a record company, they look at your chart positions and what you’ve
done and how many hits you have and they go ‘oh, we can make more
money’.”

I know it has taken me a week, but I’d like to share with you all a joint Birthday/Christmas present I received last week. The scene shows ‘Dungy Head’, which is just west of Lulworth Cove.
It looks even better in real life (the artwork that is).
Coming
from an iPod owner, this is going to sound biased, but I want to say it anyway. Earlier
this week consumers in the
UK joined the lawsuit against Apple over the allegedly defective screens on iPod Nanos,
claiming that they scratch too easily.
I’ll tell you a story.

This time
it’s a 5 minute inkscape drawing.
Evil or
not?

The photos section now has
some photos from my recent trip to Marwell Zoo.
They’re not as good as Geoff’s, but I don’t pretend they are.
