After spending 9 months (on and off) looking for a job after university, I thought it was only right to document the experience and the lessons I believe I have learnt from it. This series of ramblings is designed to give people in a similar position an alternative point of view to the usual sources and will hopefully give people hope that anything is possible.

To show that maths can be fun, I’ve refreshed the selection of fractal images on the renders page. The full size images are now all 1024×768 so that they can be used as desktop backgrounds.
If you’ve got a larger screen, then you’ll have to download apophysis (the application used to generate the images) and start making your own. Maths can also be time consuming, the image above took 14 hours to render, but only because it is a close up of the centre of a larger pattern.
