about tim

Catch is the personal internet sandpit of Tim Fry, who lives in a little town on the sunny south coast of England.

After spending three years at Southampton Uni earning a BSc in Computer Science with Image and Multimedia Systems, Tim said he didn’t want to do computer programming as a job. As a result he now works as a ‘consultant’, which it turns out is just a posh title for computer programmer, and is actually quite enjoyable.

Tim loves music. Especially that produced by Doves (the band not the bird). He’s also been known to like a bit of classical, a bit of folk and to pick and choose other things to like with little or no reason or consistency. You’ll recognise Tim at work because he’s the one with the headphones in constantly, the other end being plugged into his iPhone.

He’s a season ticket holder at Southampton Football Club and spends every other Saturday afternoon from autumn through to spring sitting in the same plastic seat shouting and singing until he’s lost his voice. This has it’s highs and lows, namely winning the Johnsons Paint Trophy at Wembley in 2010 and getting relegated in 2005 (and again in 2009). He’ll also quite happily watch rugby union, cricket or athletics. He can’t stand snooker, golf or tennis, even though people say he looks a bit like Tim Henman.

Tim also likes to think he has an eye for design, loves technology and once had a thing about collecting lights. He gets hay fever in the summer and colds in the winter, which is a shame because he loves getting outside because the world is frankly a wonderful place. If Tim were a fictional character, he would be Eeyore the Donkey with a gin habit.

If you want to get in touch with Tim, the a good place to start would be tim [at] timfry [dot] co [dot] uk. Or you could try @tim_fry if you know what it means. Alternatively, stand where you are and wave your arms around wildly, he may notice eventually.

For friends (new and old), Tim has a facebook page and has been known to log on now and then, he also has a flickr account for storing photos that for one reason or another just aren’t right to put on here.
